VAMPIRES!

I LOVE TWILIGHT. I LOVE IT.

Just this other day I was reading about how the 6th Harry Potter movie was cancelled until next year 'cause of the writers' strike they mentioned something about a Twilight movie coming out. Me, being a nerdfighter recognized the name and decided to check it out on wikipedia. So, I did. And I really liked what I read about that book. Or those books.
So I wanted to read it. And the very next day I saw it in a local bookstore, obviously new. I'd never seen it before!

I was in such a shock, haha.
It was such a coincidence! Of course I bought it. Eager to read it.

And I'm almost finished.
Wanting more already.

So, anyone else who love Twilight? Or Eclipse? New Moon?

What I think ...

Here I am trying to gather my thoughts, my intentions were to write this wonderful journal but all of a sudden I couldn't remember what I had been thinking.

So, I've just started working at this hotel, and I quite like it.
And I went with the rest of the staff and saw the Mamma Mia! movie the other day.. I absolutely loved it. It's the kind of movie that you expect to be kind of tacky or lame and not really working out, but it was hilarious. Everybody at the cinema roared with laughter and I just couldn't stop.

The part where Pierce Brosnan starts singing ... need I say more?

This weekend I went to a summer house with my family and relatives. It was fun. And the nature was beautiful.
My 6 year old brother Egill was constantly asking me if I could loan him the camera (because I'm the only one that has a camera in our family).

He's really interested in taking photo. Like I used to be, if he sees something pretty he wants to take a picture. And there was more than enough beauty there.

With all the technology and digital cameras surrounding us all the time more and more people are interested in photography. And I like that development. I myself got interested in it a few years ago, my dad was always taking photos (especially when we were travelling around Iceland) and I wanted to do so too.

And he has really encouraged me. The other day he said he wanted me to become a professional photographer.
Though I don't see myself doing it.
I want to ... I don't really know what I want to do.

Are you interested in photography? Why?

Thanks, you.

My new addiction on the internet is watching vlogs
(you don't know what that is??! O:) on youtube.com.
In the summer I discovered brotherhood2.com (now nerdfighters.ning.com) where Hank and John Green
(vlogbrothers on youtube)
posted video blogs,
or vlogs and I became pretty addicted.
began using sentences and words like
'made of awesome' 'that is pretty jokes' and 'nerdfighters!'.

Now I have disovered more hilarious,
awesomely fantastic users on youtube.

I can watch people like
/johnnydurham19, /charlieissocoollike,
/fiveawesomegirls, /5awesomegays
and /tyleroakley
forever
.

Really enjoyable.
They make me want to rant about something and record it too!

What they do once in a while is they thank subscribers and people who comment and rate their videos.

And I want to do the same.

Everyone who have
commented on my photos/journals/things,
everyone who
requested me to be their friend
/accepted me as a friend
and everyone else:

THANK YOU.

You guys are great.

My 2007

The year 2007 was pretty good for me.

I visited new places in Iceland,
Three
At Barðaströnd, west-Iceland. This was actually featured, and that makes me happy :)
 Sailing home ...
There I am, sailing towards Stykkishólmur, I had never been there before,

started my final year in school, became 15 years old and many other things, like getting a featured photo 8 times! (http://www.buzznet.com/featured/lettherebelove/)
I love this. Accident
And that photo, I'm really proud of it.
and the Buzznet Original badge, going to my first concert and seeing Heima. (If you don’t know what that is, it’s the film by Sigur Rós.)

I was planning to do a list of my favourite things, and I’m going to do that, except I can’t choose a favourite month and a book.
Can’t choose a month because over all the year was really great, and I can’t choose a book because I can’t remember any.

Favourite cd's I got: Takk... by Sigur Ros. This is actually released in '05. & Absolution by Muse. That one was also not released in '07, but in 2003. My mom went to Copenhagen earlier this year and she was so kind to buy a few cd's for me, including Absolution.
Living in Akureyri is good, most of the time, but when it comes to music, it's not. Which brings me to a other category,

Favourite concert: I went to my first real concert in '07, it was held in a high school here, and there were Dikta and Sprengjuhollin. I had listened to Dikta a bit, but I discovered Sprengjuhollin there. They are lively, witty and just really awesome on stage.
www.myspace.com/sprengjuhollin and for Dikta, they impressed me too, their performance was powerful, www.myspace.com/dikta

Favourite events: My birthday was awesome,
DSC08246
... as you can see ^^
and going and seeing Heima was pretty magnificent too.
The show I mentioned earlier was a high point.
More personal things I remember is when I started my final year in my school, when my brother started his first year in that same school.

Favourite Icelandic band/s: Sigur Rós. (www.myspace.com/sigurros) And Hjaltalin. (www.myspace.com/hjaltalinband ) and Jakobínarína! ( www.myspace.com/jakobinarina)

Favourite British band/s: Muse, Arctic Monkeys.

Favourite American band/s: Fall Out Boy, The Killers.

Favourite movie/s: I would say Heima, but I’d feel like I was bragging. Freedom Writers, I’ll settle with that. :)

Favourite person: Hulda. Because she’s such a good friend. She may take good photos, write good stuff, but she never ceases to amaze me, just by being herself.

Like any normal year, there was spring,

Southern Iceland

And there was summer,

And there was autumn,

And the winter came,

Thank you for reading, and thanks for the year!

I wish you all a happy new year, and I hope it will be bright and wonderful.

Reykjavik ... (:

Image:Sigurros heima.jpg

I went to Reykjavik last weekend to see the film Heima, by Sigur Rós.

I actually ordered the tickets a week a go, exactly.
I had been asking my dad and mother if they'd allow me to see it, over and over and over again.
My dad told me he would like to see it too. It though wasn't planned but when I searched www. midi.is and saw that there were actually 3 tickets available on the saturday evening at 8, I talked to my dad again. He, surprisingly, said yes almost straight away.

I had imagened I would have to wait at least 2 days untill I'd get his answer. But there it was,
I was going to see Heima.

My Sigur Rós obsession hasn't been around for long. I kinda started listening to them when Hoppipolla came out. I would say late 2006 it happened I started loooking for their CD's.

And on Friday I was to see their film, and I was extremely exited.
All week, especially tuesday, I longed for this trip. I could not wait.

At about 3 o'clock Friday we were on our way out of town, on our way to Reykjavík. Only I. my dad and my brother were going, for my mom had a choir thing.

Now, Heima is clearly an Icelandic word. Meaning 'at home'. The film is about ... well, it's about many things.

It's based on the '06 tour Sigur Rós took in Iceland. The admission was nothing. They travelled a really long way and held most of their concerts outside, for free.

http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/site_images/iceland/iceland-asbyrgi01.jpg

A photo of them playing in Ásbyrgi, I found this on google.com

A really awesome thing to do.
Sadly I didn't attend any of the shows, because I didn't like them as much as I do now. I liked them, but I wouldn't die if I missed the show.

So, the film is about the tour. It's a documentary / concert film.

What I thought about the film?

It ROCKS!

The photography was gorgeous, the music is beautiful,
everything fit, the interviews, the mood,
everything was spectacular.

I would gladly see it again.  & again.

The first scenes, where the song 'Glósóli' played,
almost brought tears to my eyes.

If you have the chance, see it.
You most definitely won't regret it.

Here are a few photos.
